In 2008, The Foundation made a bold move to assist community members to get help closer to their homes in the outlying counties.  Non profits were identified in Antrim, Kalkaska, Benzie and Leelanau counties who provide direct financial assistance to those with emergency needs.  We sought out organizations that were essentially doing the same work as The Father Fred Foundation.  That is, following principles of Christian generosity and utilizing volunteers to deliver services, those organizations identified  provide financial assistance, food, and other mainstays such as clothing and furniture for their county residents in need.  The Foundation’s Board approved a financial commitment to each of these faith based non-profits in hopes that some residents would be able to save time and transportation expenses by seeking help at their own county organization.  We have continued that financial commitment as well as collegial support with each other and consider these four organizations our true partners.
