Locally Founded. Locally Funded. Locally Focused.

What We Do:

Pantry - At our pantry, which resembles a small grocery market, healthy food options are made available at no charge. Our guests can shop for meat and other proteins, dairy, fresh produce, and even personal care items. In addition, our BOOST program provides an additional "boost" of food to families throughout the summer months and other times when schools aren't in session.

Blessings in a Backpack - Many children don't have regular access to food or snacks outside of school hours and rely on school meals.  Our Blessings in a Backpack program assures those children have something to eat through the weekend. We package and distribute over 11,000 bags to area schools each year.

Pantry to Preschool - Across our region, many people face food insecurity. In partnership with Early Childhood programs and MSU Extension, we deliver easy-to-follow recipes with all the needed ingredients, and include other essential grocery items. This program was developed to meet the needs of families who can't access the food pantry at The Foundation.

Financial Assistance - We're here to listen to each and every story, offering financial assistance for guests who need the essentials.  It doesn't matter if the need is keeping the heat on or safe tires to get to work, we leverage collaborative funds to do our best to meet those needs with less stress.

Clothing and Household Goods - Our clothing and household goods offer variety for each customer. Perhaps someone needs clothing or household essentials - we have them all. Guests shop in what resembles a thrift store with access to dishes, pots and pans, linens, clothing, shoes, and more.  We make new winter coats and boots available at the start of the winter season.
